Words cannot express the excitement I felt at that graduation ceremony. I was so proud, surrounded by all my fellow graduates, as I know they all worked so hard to get to where they are today. The speeches that the Val grads did, were such strong positive feelings from the heart..it made me cry...Thank God I didn't have to give a speech...you would have had to carry me out on a stretcher!! But on the bright side, I was surrounded by all the LVN's to take care of me!!! I also had no idea that I would receive the awards that I did. I tried all year to get the highest grades possible, not an easy task for me, and trying to beat one particular person next to me...Carol Coopersmith, who was ALWAYS scoring high grades. I wasn't sure that I even had it in me to get back into school with the piles of books and the countless hours of studying.(and 3 BIG boxes of high liters!)..but I had to prove to myself and my family that if you want something bad enough, you work hard and achieve it. Sacrifices were made across the board, from ignoring my wonderful husband, turning my back on my grown kids with drug and alcohol problems and falling into financial ruin. But I never lost sight of the big picture. If a woman of 54, who for the past 25 years did nothing but mortgage business, goes back to school, to further her education so she can start a whole new career, thus a new life, than ANYONE can.
In 10 months, I learned more in my class with Miss Kitty, than I did all thru high school and 2 years of college. I guess it helps to actually go to class everyday.. Amazing! I am very glad that I chose Medical billing/coding. I have the mindset of being very detailed, and with billing and coding, you MUST be detailed. the Health Care Industry is beyond vast and there are endless places to work with the education I have attained at CNI. Whether I work in a Doctor's office, a hospital or an insurance company, I know that I am there for a special purpose. What I learned about the human body and how it functions REALLY opened my eyes; I am in awe of the complexity of it all, yet every part in our bodies works together like a well oiled machine. My husband seems to think that I know so much about the human anatomy, and the language of medicine, he doesn't need a doctor, he'll just ask me!! I have to remind him that my job requirement is to code the procedures and diagnosis and bill for the services done on a patient.....not diagnose the patient...my name is NOT Dr. Benson.....
I am a people person, so I have compassion, empathy and patience for those who are suffering or need assistance, whether I work the medical front office, or sit in a tiny cubicle somewhere, I will know my responsibilities and do them the best that I can. I am a bit nervous though about the state exam..I get sweaty palms just thinking about it....I am giving myself 3 months of studying for it, so I can be prepared. I don't feel I am ready to take it now. Lots of things I learned way back in the early months, I would need to brush up on.....so I plan on taking it first week of December.
It all has been an incredible journey, my tiny brain was like a new sponge, absorbing all I could, and I have made some very nice friends along the way. My sincere thanks and gratitude to all the people at CNI College. Special thanks to Miss Kitty, who always reminded us that we are in this school for a reason....we all want to make a better life for ourselves, and pursue a dream that we didn't think possible. To use the skills and knowledge we achieved in here so when we go out there we will have a renewed sense of hope for our future, get back our self esteem, and feel good about what lies ahead...
Thank you!

First of all I would like to thank Jim and Coleen Buffington and all of the CNI staff, Marissa Gomez and the surgical technology program staff for this wonderful educational opportunity that afforded me this honor of being this year's valedictorian. More importantly I want to thank my family, Nonnie, and friends for helping me get here, I truly couldn't have done it without you. So now to the speech…
Instructive opportunity. Privilege. Escape. Journey. These are some of the words that describe the place we have spent the last year of our time - CNI College.
We began this positive journey in the classroom learning about the A & P of the human body with Dr. Kokar, whom taught in such an enthusiastic way that all could grasp even the most difficult concepts with ease. Next class was with Dr. Korandish instructing us in the procedures of the OR, tying everything together to help us view medicine as simple. Then, we get to the hands on training with Miss Janet instilling the surgical conscience and aseptic technique. Following that Betsy and Pierre, whom we've come to refer to as DR. Pierre, taught us how to function in the real world's OR through mock surgeries. Finally, under the watchful eyes of our diligent preceptors, how will we ever forget our first surgery at our extern site in the real world? As a result of this extern experience, some of my classmates and I were able to land our first job as surgical technologists.
Yes, this CNI experience truly was a journey. A journey bursting with learning and problem solving, relationships, and growth as an individual. Though with every journey comes obstacles, roadblocks, some as small as pebbles and others as large as mountains. And yet, we were able to overcome them, and some of us still are, with the willing and loving help of family, friends, teachers, and counselors. So, don't forget to thank them, they deserve it.
So now that this adventure is coming to an end for some of us and continues with others, I leave you with these words taken from the inspirational novel, And Still We Rise. "The past is behind us, the present is upon us, and the future is before us." So, Remember the past, or the good parts at least. Cherish the present. And conquer the future by pursuing your dreams. Class of 2009, we made it!

I first would like to start off by saying I do not know how I would have made it in the personal training field had it not been for CNI College. The hands on experience and practical knowledge I received were beyond my expectations and NSCA's curriculum, and are what I believe to be the two most important factors that translated into success in my new career. If I had stuck with my original plan of just getting a non-nationally recognized certification that was to be completed at my own pace, at home, with no outside help, I surely would not have the confidence that I do now.
The support I received from the knowledgeable and friendly faculty was excellent. If ever there was a question or concern I had regarding my education, there was always someone there to help. My teachers, in particular, were very courteous and open, willing to give additional, individualized support should any questions regarding my studies arise. Other students were also given this opportunity which displayed their passion, enthusiasm, and the willingness to help make a difference. The teachers were also very knowledgeable in every aspect and the curriculum was taught in such a way that was comprehensive enough for me and other students to grasp. Many handouts and projects were assigned often to make sure each topic discussed was fully understood and the teachers did a great job of making sure everyone with different learning capabilities could understand. Field trips were also assigned often, sometimes weekly, to various gyms and related fitness organizations offering an inside look in various personal training atmospheres.
Prior to graduation, the career services department staff did a superb job of making sure I was prepared for my new career by helping plan out my resume and providing the necessary interview techniques. My first interview following graduation was at a local gym which I am glad to say now looking back that I did not get hired. My qualifications, knowledge, and interview skills strongly lead me to believe that I was overqualified for the position that surely any non-CNI graduate could have filled. After taking and passing the NSCA exam with a high score, I realized how much easier this school made the test seem. Reviewing for the test was not as necessary as it would have been if I tried and learned the material on my own. Upon graduating from CNI, the career services department also made sure to follow up with me to see if I was successful in passing the NSCA exam and finding a new career. And still after finding a career in which I love, the staff still keeps in contact to make sure all is well. I cannot say enough great things about this school. It was truly an honor being a graduate from CNI College and is a school I highly recommend to anyone undecided on a career path or turning that dream career into reality. Thank you CNI College for giving me an opportunity that will last a lifetime!

Hi Jim,
My experience at CNI College has been life changing. Before attending the Surgical Technology program I held various unfulfilling jobs. One of my positions was working for a major auto maker in the customer service division. My day began with filling order requests that were printed on labels and affixing them to the requested part. I would then package the parts, prepare them for shipping and send them to the dealer. Every day started and finished in the same way, it was repetitive and boring.
I felt I needed to do something more exciting and rewarding . I began to research the duties of a Surgical Technologist and found it very exciting. To be part of a team in the operating room performing life changing procedures would be rewarding in itself.
After researching several schools, I decided on CNI College because of its friendly, professional staff and their commitment to student success. I have been working in the main operating room for almost two years. For the first time in my life I can honestly say, "I love my job!"
Thank you CNI College. I hope anyone seeking an exciting and rewarding job as a Surgical Technologist will choose CNI College.

My name is Cheryl Fullerton and I am a Graduate Student as well as an Instructor at CNI. I graduated with Honors in July of 2005.
All my life I have been interested and curious about how the body functions and does what it does. I read books, followed various dietary habits, researched supplements, exercise programs, meditations and healing practices. I also found myself massaging my friends and family if they complained of any form of discomfort. Somehow I knew where the pain was and even with little knowledge, made them feel physically as well as emotionally better. This inspired me to look into Massage Therapy, as it seemed to encompass everything I was interested in.
Even though going to Massage School had been on my mind for years, I finally made an appointment and filled out an application form to register as a student at CNI at the tender age of 38 years.
My first day in class was exhilarating. We were already learning how to massage and entire body! I realized this was what I was supposed to do and had finally found who I really was.
The next nine months were challenging. Going back to school after all those years was a daunting thought at first, but with perseverance, a good computer/printer and the passion of the teachers to share their knowledge I was finally putting together my new lifestyle and career.
The Teachers at CNI were all incredibly gifted, I was very lucky to be under their tutelage. The curriculum had every imaginable piece of information required to understand anatomy, different modalities and techniques as well as the business and marketing sides to aid us in becoming and be able to be the most successful Massage Therapists we could be.
My last day of school at CNI was a very sad one for me. I had become a Professional Massage Therapist; I'd made some incredible new friends and had amazing mentors to look up to. The time I had spent working so hard learning seemed to go by so quickly, I always wanted to return.
I feel truly blessed to be teaching at CNI and am so happy to be back in school. I am passionate about sharing the knowledge and experiences of massage that I have encountered since leaving school and to send graduating students fully armed with confidence in their education to be the best therapists they can be. Please join us and welcome in your new and wonderful lifestyle and career!

CNI College,
I remember when I first found CNI, it was right after I found out about the NSCA-CPT certification. CNI College was the only school with hands on training that offered this certification in Orange County, CA. I was ecstatic because I wanted the classroom setting and the positive social environment of everyone going after the same goal. When I first attended class I thought I was already in the best of shape but you surely find out your not and that there are so many different ways to train your body. The schedule that they offer worked great for me. I was able to work from 8am-5pm and attend class from 6pm-10pm Monday thru Thursday. It was definitely hard work but it really disciplined me to get out there and push harder. Attending the field trips to elite fitness gyms and training facilities, including; Equinox and Velocity was also a huge benefit. The staff was excellent and always there to answer any questions. Whenever I had questions or concerns about career choices I always had the ears of Stacy Hinkel, Director of Education and Pat Murray which was my instructor. They believed in me and provided me with skills that I wouldn't have attained if it wasn't for me attending CNI. So, as a result I pushed myself to excel and weeks before I graduated I attended a few interviews and was successfully hired at and elite fitness gym. So if you are interested in being in the health and fitness industry and want to be a personal trainer or fitness coach then go to CNI, take a tour and see what they are all about.

CNI College,
I had been looking for a career change for about a year. Massage Therapy had been an interest of mine for several years. So, I finally made a decision to go back to school. I looked around the area for schools offering Massage Therapy programs and visited a couple to find out about the curriculum and facility. Although, there were a few schools in the area, CNI had the nicest facility and staff and offered a longer program of 720 hours. I was a bit nervous at starting a new career path but everyone at CNI was very helpful and knowledgable.
The core classes gave me a solid foundation in Massage Therapy. I felt very confident in working in the onsite spa at CNI as well as outside in the "real world". Knowing the various massage techniques and anatomy has helped me advance in my career. I'm able to speak to chiropractors, physical therapists and clients in detail about injuries and treatment plans.
One of my favorites classes, was the business course. Having to create a business plan in this course gave me a goal to pursue in my career. It has also helped me navigate through working as a W2 employee and a contract employee.
The Career Center was a tremendous asset. One of my first jobs came from a lead at the Career Center. I've held various positions in the several years since attending CNI, working for spas and chiropractors. I enjoy working with other professionals to help clients find stress relief and live a better life.
Cheers,
Dava White

CNI College,
One of the greatest things about Career Network Institute Massage Therapy Program is the opportunity to work in a "real world setting". The " Wellness Center " gives students a chance to gain experience working with clients while still being in a nurturing and educational environment. The " Wellness Center " gives you the ability to practice the amazing hands on skills you have learned in the classroom and work directly with real clients from all walks of life. One day you might be giving a relaxing Swedish Massage to a school teacher and the next day you might be giving a doctor a Deep Tissue Massage. No matter who comes through the door, or what type of technique they request, you feel comfortable and confident knowing that there is an experienced and caring instructor nearby.
The " Wellness Center " is just one of the many invaluable resources that set Career Network Institute apart from all other schools. Career Network Institute Massage Therapy Program also has an amazing curriculum that spans the gamete of massage modalities. You are exposed to modalities like Shiatsu, Pregnancy Massage, Hot Stone and Sports Massage, just to name a few! There is nothing like the excitement of learning a new technique and at Career Network Institute everyday you are excited because you are learning something new.
I gained the confidence and experience I needed to be a successful massage therapist thanks to the Career Network Institute Massage Therapy Program!

CNI College,
When I decided to go back to school to continue my education there was no doubt in my mind that this time I wanted to get into the medical field. The medical field has always been an interest of mine, and one that I have grown familiar with over the years. After speaking with family and friends who are involved in many different aspects of the field I decided the Operating Room sounded like the most exciting and fulfilling place to be. The OR has always been a fascinating environment to me. It is an unfamiliar environment to most people and seems to be one of the most crucial to the field. The more I looked into job opportunities in the OR, the more I became convinced that filling the role of the Surgical Technologist was what I wanted to do. The human body is a complex system that not many people understand or get to see from the inside, or for that matter want to, but those of us who do, understand the intrigue. The Surgical Technologist position seemed to offer everything I was looking for in a career: excitement, knowledge, the opportunity to help the community and room for advancement.
Once I decided this was the career path I wanted to take and began looking into schools, the decision was pretty easy. Every search I did brought up Career Networks Institute. Every new page I clicked, and every new reference I checked had testimonials and references to CNI College, so I decided to go to the campus and take a look. I met with the Dean of Students, Kay Kenyon, who so graciously met with me without an appointment and explained every aspect of the program to me. She answered all my questions, set up a tour of the campus and even introduced me to another student who lived near me in San Diego. I had visited other campuses prior to this that were closer to my home, as I lived over 60 miles away, but was so impressed by the staff and facility, I knew this was the program that was going to benefit me the most.
Once the program began I realized what made this particular school so special. The instructors at CNI are so dedicated to their student's education. Each instructor was either a Medical Doctor or Scrub Tech themselves and offered invaluable clinical information to the lecture each day. I formed a close relationship with each of my professors that made it a joy to make the long train ride to class everyday. If at any time throughout my program I had a question, I felt comfortable going to the instructor and sitting down and reviewing the information with them. I never once felt like I was a burden or taking up their time. Each instructor brought a different area of expertise to the classroom, which I believe helped provide me with a well-rounded knowledge base. Class sessions offered textbook information as well as real life situations and problem solving techniques, which certainly made me more comfortable once it came time to walk into the OR for the first time. While the classroom was informative and interesting, the real excitement began one I reached my sites. I have not experienced a bigger rush than walking into the OR for the first time, knowing I was taking over the case. Even though it was my first time in the OR, my preceptor stood me next to the surgeon and had me involved in every aspect of the surgery. It has been my experience that the clinical sites CNI has provided for the students are truly interested in teaching. I found that the surgeons were eager to involve me in every surgery available and often times found myself being quizzed on anatomy and procedures to make sure I was aware of what was happening. I felt welcomed into each site I attended and am so grateful for the experiences I had.
I feel very fortunate that I was able to scrub in on some amazing surgeries at each site I attended. I am thankful to the instructors at CNI for their willingness to meet with me to review unfamiliar procedures at any time, even though I was no longer in the classroom portion of my program. I feel as though I was exposed to a wide range of surgeries as well as specialties. I spent the first portion of my externship scrubbing in at a world-renowned plastic surgeon's office, then another at a center specializing in orthopedics and the last at a very prestigious hospital. I am confident that the cases I have been allowed to scrub in on as a student not only show my capabilities as a scrub tech but CNI's ability to produce a confident and competent Surgical Technologist.
Having completed my externship and program I can honestly say that I definitely made the right choice. I chose a career that fulfils my expectations and chose a program that prepared me for it. CNI has been a wonderful support system throughout my program and I would recommend them to any student interested in a career in the operating room.

CNI College,
Once the Mortgage Industry basically took a nose dive I was not too sure what to do. After being out of school for 10 years I was overwhelmed thinking about how to start over. I was a new mom and needed to make sure to find something that fit in my crazy schedule. After inquiring at CNI College I decided to attend here due to all the benefits and the friendly personnel who help me make my decision that the pharmacy technician course was the career for me. I like the idea of learning the trade and generic names of the drugs because that is actually used in the profession on a daily basis. Not to mention that the knowledge about the drugs is useful to personal life due to at one point you will have to take a medication for one reason or another.

CNI College,
I was at a dead end job and I was 46 years old. I was desperate to have a 'career' that was worthwhile.
My brand new husband suggested the health care field and I was intrigued.
We both began in earnest to search for Vocational Nursing schools that wouldn't take me 2+ years to finish. I visited three schools and CNI was the last one I interviewed. I was so blown away by the Director of Nursing, Miss VJ, that I was sold on CNI that very day.
Consistently the staff of CNI was exceptionally professional and they really were genuinely interested in my success. At times they had more confidence in me than I did. The curriculum is exceptional and all pertinent topics of health care are covered by the program at CNI. They have a great computer lab with all the latest training CD's, and a great skills lab.
CNI has contracts with some very good hospitals in the Orange County area and the hands-on training I received attending to real patients was thrilling time. CNI has really prepared me for a career in nursing. I would recommend CNI to anyone who wants a thorough and exceptional nursing platform from which to grow.
I want to say "Thank You" to all the staff at CNI College of Vocational Nursing!
Sincerely,
Janna Jakovich

CNI College,
I was kind of lost in my life and then a friend mentioned nursing. I hadn't ever really given that much thought. My parents were all for it so I started to shop around. I was immediately with the people and the facility at CNI.
I interviewed with the Director of Nursing, Miss VJ. I was instantly impressed with her professionalism and her enthusiasm about the school. She was very interested in me and was genuinely excited about her program and that got me excited too.
I've heard from other students at other Vocational Nursing Programs that they don't have the chance to go to clinical sites each term they are in school. By far CNI has contracts with some of the best facilities in the Orange County and Los Angeles county areas. I learned hands on techniques for patient care and the all the staff members at each facility were very happy to see us. They would tell us how the students at CNI were the most professional and the best prepared for actual hands on experience.
All in all CNI College was a fantastic place to learn nursing. The entire staff at CNI is very knowledgeable and very caring and 100% motivated to see each and every student achieve their dream of becoming a qualified and caring nurse.
I definitely recommend CNI College for Vocational Nursing to anyone interested in a career in nursing.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Barnum

CNI College,
It has been almost 7 years since I graduated from CNI with a Diploma in Massage Therapy. Little did I know how wonderful the Massage Therapy program at CNI was till I started working! I have worked with some very bright and talented people but what I found was many of them did not get the same quality of schooling as I did. You would not believe the horror stories I have heard. Schools with no supplies, old text books, unqualified instructors who have no Ethics and administration that are just out there to make the quick buck.
CNI provides students with qualified instructors, textbooks that are up to date and are willing to work with students on financial aid and job placement. They encourage all of their students, including me, to be the best they can.
For example, I was honest with my instructors regarding my learning disability and my history of doing poorly on test. With this information the instructors were able to help me with different ways of studying and provide me with test taking skills. This really helped build my self confidence. The instructors at CNI encouraged me to take the Nationals test right when I graduate so that I would still have things fresh in my mind. The day I went to take my test I used everything I could to help with memory and recall. I truly was shocked when they told me that I passed the National Exam. Since graduating I have maintained my National Certification and have worked for a chiropractor, a few day spas, several high end spas, became a spa manager and now I am a teacher of Massage Therapy at a college outside of Orange County.
Let me tell you there are lots of schools out there offering Massage Therapy but there are not many schools that have a solid curriculum as CNI nor do they have staff that supports their teachers and their students. I feel that CNI truly cares for their students, staff and reputation. The massage therapy program at CNI prepared me for my career as a Massage Therapist and now a teacher of Massage Therapy.
The massage therapy program at CNI has a knowledgeable, fair and diplomatic Program Director in Ms. Kelee Eiselein and I know she looks out for the well being of each student, while maintaining the wonderful reputation and the quality of students that CNI produces. In my 7 years I have recommended CNI to several people in Orange County because I know that each student will get their monies worth and will walk away with a fabulous education and a wonderful career.
Sincerely,
St Joseph Hospital

To whom it may concern;
Saddleback Memorial Medical Center is an externship site for surgical technologist students ftom Career Networks Institute. We have a student, who is currently in training, and found him to be well trained. He comes to our site daily prepared to learn and is current on the latest surgical procedures.
We have been so happy with our student´s progress that we are currently in the process of hiring him as soon as he graduates next month. WIth such a positive experience, we plan to continue providing an externship experience and hope to fill other open positions with new graduates.
There is a growing need for surgical technologists and limited resources in our local area. Our job description requires that the surgical technologist be a graduate of an accredited school. Career Networks Institute is accredited by ABHES.
I also teach a Perioperative Nursing class at the local Community College and recognize the amount of education and training required in preparing students for healthcare jobs. Career Networks Institute students have been the best trained of the three local schools available for surgical technologist training.
I have recommended the Career Networks Institute to other local community hospitals in need of surgical technologists and highly recommend the school for their outstanding work in preparing the students for hea1thcare careers.

Hi Jim,
This may be something you already know, but I will pass it on anyway. I was talking to one of our recent graduates about her new personal fitness training job. She told me that the gym she just got a job with bases her salary on the number of certifications she has, and they consider her diploma from CNI to be equal to one certification.
