The Medical Office Administration Diploma Program prepares students for entry-level administrative positions in a health care environment. The Medical Administration program is designed to prepare the adult learner to meet the requirements for employment in medical offices, clinics, hospitals, and other health care environments requiring skills in medical insurance billing and coding, business technology, and computer applications. Emphasis is placed on medical terminology, medical insurance, computer applications, personnel management, human relations, medical law and ethics, and medical office administration. The clinical aspect of the program includes the measurement of vital signs and the application of universal precautions. Professional duties may include: insurance coding for professional computerized billing, records maintenance, monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable, computerized applications, medical office management, public relations, and personnel management.
